Ashok Leyland has been awarded another contract for 65 Truck Mounted Wreckers, a specialised vehicle that will be used by the Bangladesh government for various highway applications. Ashok Leyland considers Bangladesh as one of the most important export markets, and this supply enhances the brand position in the country even more. The Indian government's varied export liberalisation policies have piqued their interest.

According to Amandeep Singh, head of Ashok Leyland's foreign unit, "exports have been a significant focus for us to de-risk from cyclicality in the Indian market."
