After the launch of the Q2 Crossover, Audi India is now prepping up to launch the S5 Sportback in the Indian market. Audi India teased the S5 Sportback on the launch day of the Q2 but now, Audi India has officially listed the S5 Sportback on the India website. The S5 Sportback will have no direct competition in our market and will come with 3.0-litre V6 TFSI engine. Audi is expected to open bookings soon and the launch will happen in November too.
Audi updated the A5 range globally last year with mild facelift along with tweaked interiors. The S5 Sportback sits between the regular A5 and the menacing RS5. We already have the RS7 and RSQ8 in India at this moment whereas the S5 will debut the S range from Audi in India again. The S5 Sportback gets sportier bumpers, bigger 19-inch alloy wheels and quad-exhaust tips over the regular A5 Sportback.

Talking about the interiors, we get a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Audi Connect and internet compatibility. Moreover, we also get a state-of-the-art virtual cockpit and a sporty steering wheel. In addition to that, this being an old model, doesn't get twin touchscreen system and comes with tactile AC controls. Moreover, as the roofline tapers-off to the back, the S5 Sportback won't be the preferred choice for buyers looking for outright space and comfort.
Coming to the propulsor - which in question - is a 3.0-litre TFSI V6 petrol engine which comes mated to the popular Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The motor pumps out 349hp and 500 Nm of torque which is channelled to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto. The S5 Sportback can touch nought to 100 km/h mark in just 4.9 seconds whereas the top whack is limited to 250 km/h.

Like many other models from Audi in India, this too will follow the CBU route. That will impose good taxation and hence, we expect the S5 Sportback to get a price tag of near a Crore. Audi India has listed the S5 Sportback ahead of bookings commencement and the launch is scheduled to take place in November.
