Admit it, we have all had a Bajaj Chetak in our family at one point in time. This was THE two-wheeler to own and customers waited for years before their bookings would materialize and the scooter would be delivered to them. No wonder then, the old television advert of "Humara Bajaj" went on to win hearts. Sadly, the brand name had a slow death a few years back but these are still seen running around in good health in smaller towns around the country. Good news for brand loyalists is that Bajaj Auto has decided to re-enter the scooter market with the same brand name but this time around, in an electric avatar! This modern-day electric Chetak was first unveiled by the Bajaj Auto back in October 2019 and has gained quite an attention since then.

Launched at a starting price of Rs 1 lakh, the scooter is available in two trims - Urbane and Premium. The latter sticks to a price of Rs 1.15 Lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi. A total of 6 colour options are available for the scooter. Deliveries will initially start in Pune and Bengaluru before shifting to other cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

Bajaj Auto is the first mainstream two-wheeler manufacturer to bring in the electric scooter in its range. It is a big push for electric mobility in terms of pricing. Also, we hope that the sales of Bajaj electric scooter will pull out strong because of the Chetak monicker and a massive fan following in the Indian market.
