Today, we are pitting two bikes which have been trying to overtake each other. Bajaj launched the Dominar 400 back in 2016 and pitted it directly with the segment king - the Classic 350. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 needs no introduction owing to its cult fan following across the globe. Bajaj was very confident to disrupt the legacy of the Classic 350 but that surely didn't happen. But the question is which one of the two bikes is more sensible and value for money? Which one should you buy? Just to answer that, we have come up with Bajaj Dominar 400 Vs RE Classic 350 spec comparison.
Bajaj Dominar 400 Vs RE Classic 350 - Design and Dimensions
Talking about the Dominar 400 first, it looks very crisp and menacing. The front robot-face styled headlight unit gives it a futuristic stance and the rest of the design is attractive. Additions like USD forks, machine cut alloy wheels and twin-barrel exhaust adds to the overall design. The Classic 350, on the other hand, is very classic! Rounded halogen headlight, spoked wheel rims, amber indicators and that hand-painted fuel tank; everything is very classic and doesn't contain any new-age features.
Model | Bajaj Dominar 400 | RE Classic 350 |

Height | 1112mm | 1090mm |
Wheelbase | 1453mm | 1390mm |
Fuel tank | 13 litres | 13.5 litres |
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is the bigger bike here with a longer wheelbase and every other dimension, except for the length, is bigger than the Classic 350'. The Classic 350 comes with 13.5 litres fuel tank which is 0.5 litres more than Dominar's fuel tank capacity. As the design is subjective, we can't draw the winner here; some may like the classic appeal of the Classic 350 whereas some will ask for features and tech which the Dominar offers.

On paper, the Dominar 400 generates double the power of the Classic 350' which is 20 PS. The Dominar 400 is offered with a more advanced DOHC layout along with liquid cooling as well whereas the Classic 350 uses the old 2 valve layout and air-cooling only. The power of the Dominar, at 40 PS, is very helpful in covering long patches of tarmac quickly and it spreads its legs wide open on the highways. The Classic 350 is all about its riding style, thump and the torque. The torque which is just 28 Nm is belted out at just 4000 rpm which gives it more sedate riding characteristics when compared to the Dominar. If you want to munch miles, the Dominar is a much better choice than the Classic 350 thanks to its amazing power and cruising capabilities.

If you look in a sane way, the Dominar 400 is leaps and bounds better than the Classic 350 as it offers more power, better equipment and sounds more VFM. But if you are one of them who just drool over the signature riding position and exhaust thump of the Classic, well, there is nothing better than the RE for you as that is still unmatched.
