Bajajs Pulsar 250 is yet to be released, but whatever of it has been teased, it definitely shows a new and improved bike. The new bike is expected to come with a 250cc engine, and whether its the same unit available with the Dominar or a completely new mill is yet to be seen. The design has also evolved and the looks are derivative. With several other upgrades, the new 250 is expected to be priced at around Rs.1.35 lacs.
The 220F, on the other hand, was mostly revived aesthetically from time to time. Currently, a single-channel ABS, a new colour scheme, and a BS6 norm 220cc engine keeps it relevant today. With these, Bajaj has hiked the price of the Pulsar 220F to Rs. 1.28,250 (ex-showroom price in Delhi). So, how do these two models compare? And which one should you buy? Bajaj Pulsar 250 vs Bajaj Pulsar 220F Comparison - Design
The Pulsar 220F has been in production since 2007, and the semi-fairing has remained the same all this while. It would be unfair to not address the timeliness of the design, for it has aged pretty well over the year. But with the same double-cradle frame, the Pulsar 220F feels a bit heavy.
The new Pulsar 250 gets an updated design. In the teaser, and the bikes that were spied, the naked styling, and new LED headlight design with LED DRLs were the major takeaways. The dimensions are yet to be officially disclosed, but whatever we could gather from spied shots, the new Pulsar 250 will seat lower for the bikes sporty stance.
Bajaj Pulsar 250 vs Bajaj Pulsar 220F - Specifications Comparison
ThePulsar 220F kept the same 220cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that develops 20.4 Ps and 18.55 Nm of torque. Although power and torque figures had dropped marginally, with a throaty and sweeter exhaust note, the 220F felt nice to ride.
On the other hand, the new Pulsar 250 has been spied with a double-barrel exhaust pipe, the same design that is available with the Dominar. The official power and torque figures arent available as of yet. But if Bajaj gets the Dominar's 250cc engine, then the Pulsar 250 produces 27 Ps and 23.5 Nm of torque.

Features
The old Pulsar 220F used to come with a semi-digital instrument cluster with faux carbon fiber casings where the cluster is fitted. It displays a wide range of information such as odometer, speed, updated fuel lever meter, distance-to-empty fuel consumption, etc. The design of the dual-headlight unit with DRL has aged well, but it still isnt a LED unit.
On the other hand, the new Pulsar 250 gets an all-new fairing design with LED headlights and LED DRLs. The instrument cluster is going to be a digital unit, and this time it is purported to get Bluetooth connectivity as well.
Another major upgrade that will differentiate the new Pulsar 250 from the 220F, is its mono-shock suspension at the rear, instead of dual shock absorbers. These changes will go a long way to refine the ride quality of the Pulsar 250.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 vs Bajaj Pulsar 220F Comparison - Verdict
All in all, the new Pulsar 250 definitely seems like an upgrade over the Pulsar 220F. With a new design and chassis, the new Pulsar 250 definitely offers a better experience, compared to the 220F, which in all fairness does feel old. The new 250cc engine will also produce more power, making it more suitable for long-distance touring. But at it heart, both are commuter bikes and in that segment, the new Pulsar 250 will definitely offer better competition than the 220F, to the likes of the Yamaha FZS-25, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, and Suzuki Gixxer 250.
