BMW cars in India will get costlier up to Rs 2 Lakhs from the upcoming 1st April 2022, increasing by 3.5 per cent in value. Read all the details here.

The Kachadimangalam, Tamil Nadu based BMW India has announced a steep price hike over their entire product range from the upcoming 1st April 2022. BMW cars will get costlier up to Rs 2 Lakhs once the latest price revision takes place.

According to the official statement by BMW India, the price hike has been subjected due to the consistently increasing production associated costs such as the logistics charges, and the material costs involved. BMW India also cited the geopolitical situational reasons and international exchange rate associated hikes behind these increment of prices over their entire product range in India.

This is the second time in the year 2022 itself when BMW India has hiked the prices substantially. The first price hike took place in February 2022 which also incorporated a marginal amount of up to Rs 2 Lakhs all over their product range offered in India.

Currently, BMW offers a mixture of products which include mid-size luxury sedans, SUVs and limousine models. The models include the likes of BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, BMW 3 Series, BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine, BMW M 340i, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, and the flagship BMW 7 Series. The made-in-India SUV line-up consists of the BMW X1, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X7. Apart from these various models, BMW also owns the British originated cult car brand MINI and offers the MINI Countryman in India as well via locally producing it at the Tamil Nadu based production plant.

BMW has been known for making driver-oriented cars and the German carmaker also offers its CBU products in India as well. These products include the variety as such BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, BMW X6, BMW Z4, BMW M2 Competition, BMW M5 Competition, BMW M8 Coupe, BMW X3 M, BMW X5 M, and the recently launched all-electric BMW iX SUV. This price hike will affect the potential customers and the competitors will be looking for options to use this price hike for their benefit as well.
