We already have the BMW X3 and X4 on sale in the Indian market but last year, we saw the global unveil of the X3M and X4M. We have seen multiple spy shots of the camouflaged BMW X3M roaming on the roads of Mumbai but now the India launch is near. The X3 is under shadowed in India under the glam of affordable X1 and the glamourous X5. This is going to change with the arrival of the X3M as it will be the newest and the only M from BMW in the SUV line up.
BMW X3M is the entry-level M SUV in the Bavarian carmaker's lineup. BMW does offer the M grade X1 and X2 but those are not full-fledged M cars. BMW will launch the X3M in India soon and it will come with a 480hp 3.0-litre inline-6 turbo petrol engine. From the outside, it seems like the normal X3 to normal people but enthusiasts with keen eyes will notice the deeper and meaner bumpers and quad exhaust tips at the back.

The interiors are also very similar to the regular X3 but we do get some carbon fibre inserts. The top of the dashboard is black with carbon fibre inserts and BMW will also offer some level of customisations as well. Talking the centre stage is the 10.25-inch touchscreen iDrive system which comes with Apple Car Play and Sports display. Moreover, the instrument cluster is all digital with rounded dials - unlike the inverted dials we see in the newer BMW models.
Coming to the powerhouse, we have got a newly-developed 3.0-litre inline-6 twin-turbo petrol engine which churns out 480hp and 600 Nm of torque. In the Competition spec, the same engine puts out 510hp but the Competition trim is reserved for later. This is the same engine we also get to see in the new and not very lovely M3 and M4 models. The X3M comes with 8-speed auto and xDrive and does nought to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Moreover, the top whack is limited to 250 km/h which can be increased to 280 km/h by opting for the M Driver's package.

BMW will soon launch the X3M in India as one of the dealers have teased the exhaust note which is speculated to be of the X3M. The pricing of the X3M will see north of 1 Crore ex-showroom as it will come through the CBU route. The sales of the X3M will be most hampered by the recently announced Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 Coupe. Although the GLC 43 Coupe doesn't directly rival the X3M thanks to the lower performance on offer, its price tag will appeal to many which will be set near 80 lakh.
