Audi has finally revealed the Q5 Sportsback coupe-like SUV which is based on the facelifted Q5. Mind you, this BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe rival differentiates itself from the regular Q5 with its sloping roofline with raked tailgate and integrated spoiler.
Coming to the mechanicals first, Audi has currently unveiled the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine which makes as much as 202 bhp with a peak torque of 400 Nm. It is offered with a 7-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch auto gearbox with Quattro all-wheel drive.
While the above figures might not seem too sporty at this moment, Audi will bring a more powerful V6 turbo diesel engine and a four-cylinder TFSI petrol engine. Additionally what Audi has done is that the 2.0L turbo diesel now comes with a mild-hybrid system set up. This means that when the car is coasting, this technology cuts off the engine thus saving more fuel and reducing CO2 emissions.

One interesting bit to know here about the Q5 Sportsback is that the couped SUV is longer in length than the regular Q5. Also, the boot space is reduced by a mere 10 litres given that it gets a sloping roof-line and both the length and width are same as that of the regular model.
Feature-wise, the Q5 Sportsback gets a larger 10.1-inch infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster which gets a heads up display. The German carmaker is also pointing out to the adaptive cruise control which takes care of the acceleration, braking and keeping in lane of the couped SUV.
Furthermore, the Q5 Sportsback also gets matrix styled LED lights and OLED taillights. What the latter means is that the buyers can choose from a total of three signature taillight variant when choosing their vehicle. This is just a fancy gimmick but what's interesting is that if your vehicle is stationary then the OLED taillights illuminate from a distance of two metres if any moving vehicle is approaching. This is basically a warning feature.
Sharing our deeds on the design then it looks like an exclusive coupe in its segment. Little details and appropriate proportions which make it stand out from its competition. At the front, the larger honeycomb styled grille gets surrounded by chrome accents and the chrome is visible at the fog light housing too.

Coming to the side profile then you get to choose from 21 wheel choices which go from 18-inched to 21-inched in diameter. But that's not even the interesting part. It is the sloping roofline which gets attached to the rear profile swiftly and makes up for the sporty design. At the rear, the chrome grille connects the taillights while the skid plate at the lower part of the bumper gives it a sporty appeal. It is the high raised rear bumper which gives it a masculine look.
As of now, the launch date is not announced but we are expecting it to be launched in the first half of 2021 in the international markets. For the Indian market, we can just say that Audi Q5 Sportsback will make its way soon because of the presence of BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe.
