
BMW India has finally brought in the more powerful twin-turbo V8 version of the X5 and this M Competition is priced at Rs 1.95 Crore, ex-showroom, Delhi. Yes, the mammoth SUV is finally in its performance version and it will rival with the likes of Audi RS Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Sharing the mechanicals of this mean SUV first, this one gets a huge 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 motor which churns out 617 bhp with a massive torque of 750 Nm. It pulls, it really pulls with this amount of torque. Although with such huge power, the top speed has been electronically set to 250 km/h. And this engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
If figures are to be believed then 0-100 km/h sprint is well achieved in just 3.8 seconds. Phew! That's fast for an SUV of this size. Well, with even this much performance under the hood, the comfort level on the inside are just marvellous.
With that much power under the hood, BMW also promises a host of safety features which include adaptive LED headlights, cruise control with a braking system, heads-up display, parking assistant, collision and pedestrian warning with city braking function and a lot more.

Design-wise then this M version differentiates itself from the regular one by blacked-out treatment on the front grille, air intakes, side gills, roof rails, window lines and the diffuser at the rear which gives it a sporty look. This huge SUV gets 21-inch alloy wheels at the front and 22-inch alloy wheels at the rear.

Coming to the inside now then it gets top-class materials and the multifunctional front seats really come in handy with the electrically adjustable backrest, thigh and lumbar support. While it receives a Harmon Kardon surround system as standard, one can also opt for the rear-seat entertainment package and Bowers and Wilkens diamond surround system as an optional package.

The 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster really packs in multiple information and the SUV packs in durable M compound brakes with two pedal setting being comfort and sport. It further gets in three driving modes - track, sport and road.
