Honda NX500 - Details!
The new Honda NX500 revealed at EICMA 2023, brings a rally-bike vibe with its fairing, tall windscreen, and comfortable seating. It steps in as the replacement for the CB500X in Honda's adventure bike lineup.
Under the hood, the NX500 boasts a 471cc parallel-twin engine that's undergone upgrades for a smoother ride, thanks to a crank counterweight and balancer shaft. The power output stands at 47 BHP and 43 Nm, with an improved ECU for better acceleration. The bike's suspension features a 41 mm Showa upside-down fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Rolling on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with block-pattern tires, the NX500 ensures a solid grip. Braking is taken care of by dual 296 mm discs in the front and a single disc at the rear.
One notable upgrade is the lightweight wheels, reducing unsprung weight by 1.5 kg and contributing to an overall weight loss of 3 kg. The NX500 also comes with a five-inch TFT display, offering smartphone connectivity, navigation, Bluetooth capabilities, and the convenience of making calls or listening to music while on the go.

With the discontinuation of the CB500X, there's been a gap in the market. Honda plans to fill that void with the NX500, their new mid-capacity adventure bike. Positioned below the recently launched XL 750 Transalp in terms of pricing, the NX500 is expected to be priced similarly to the last recorded CB500X price of Rs 5.79 lakh.
Going head-to-head with competitors like the Kawasaki Versys 650 (priced at Rs 7.77 lakh), Moto Morini X-Cape, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and the KTM 390 Adventure, the NX500 aims to be a competitive choice in the adventure bike segment.
