Recently, BSA Motorcycles took to social media to announce its comeback with a series of logos over the years.

After tasting success with Jawa Motorcycles, Mahindra & Mahindra owned, Classic Legends, is set to relaunch BSA Motorcycles. Their debut bike will be unveiled at the Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham, UK, this December 4th.

The new BSA motorcycle will stick true to its heritage styling, and the focus will be on retro styling. This means that there will be a round headlamp, a tear-drop shape fuel tank, and a flat and wide handlebar. Both the front and rear fenders will be broader, and while some variants will equip spoke wheels, others will get alloy wheels.

Aside from these, the new bike will also see liberal use of chrome elements on the headlamp, fuel tank, exhaust pipe, and engine casing. To further attract customers, some motorcycles will also come with an all-black theme. The recent Jawa Perak is a perfect example of how neo-retro styling works hand-in-hand with an all-black theme.

As far as its engine is concerned, the upcoming BSA motorcycle will be powered by a 650 cc motorcycle. This will put it directly against competitors like the Royal Enfield Interceptor. The new motorcycle will be manufactured in the Midlands. There are also talks that BSA might shift to manufacturing electric motorcycles, for it has also received a large amount of 4.6 million pounds from the British Government to set up an R& D facility. This facility will be solely focusing on developing electric motorcycles, something that BSA should aggressively pursue since most European countries are focusing on making a complete shift to EVs.

As far as BSAs India debut is concerned, it will not happen soon because of two reasons. Firstly, the brand is more popular in the UK, where it has a solid customer base. Secondly, if launched in India, then BSA Motorcycles will run into a legal battle over the name since BSA cycles is already operational here. So, as of now, Classic Legends will be focusing on developing Jawa motorcycles and the yet-to-be-launched Yezdi motorcycles.
