Citroen India is now prepping up to embark its journey in the Indian market with four new products. One product will be launched every year until 2023. The first launch is the Citroen C5 Aircross which is expected to happen in Q1 of 2021. The second launch from Citroen will be a compact SUV which is expected to be called as C3 Sporty.
Unlike the C5 Aircross, the future products of Citroen will be made in India and highly localised to keep the costs low. The C5 Aircross will be the first offering from the French marque in India and it will carry a sole 2.0-litre diesel engine with 180 PS mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission only. We expect the prices to touch Rs 30 lakh price bracket ex-showroom.

Citroen is targeting 90-95% localisation with the C21 and it will be competing with other compact SUVs in the market.
Talking about the engine of the C3 Sporty, it is expected to be powered 1.2 Puretech Turbo engine of 116hp, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Not only this, but Citroen may also come with an all-electric trim which could feature a 50kWh battery churning out 134 bhp and 260 Nm of torque with a range of up to 330km. The lower variant may get a 37 kWh battery with 230 km of range on a single charge.
