In India, Daimler Truck is a well-known truck and bus manufacturer with a strong market presence. The company started a new innovation and development centre in Bengaluru called the Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI). DTICI will focus on research, product engineering, and IT capabilities to support Daimler Truck's global business divisions and brands. Daimler has opted to establish a specialised product engineering and IT centre in Bengaluru, to serve as a hub for future developments and to make use of the region's talent pool.
The company will use this centre to serve as the backbone for all Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses, Fuso, Bharat Benz, and EvoBus GmbH innovations and technology advances worldwide.

The centre will concentrate on a variety of engineering and research prospects, including, vehicle engineering, powertrain engineering, software development for electronic control units, computer-aided engineering (CAE), computer-aided design (CAD), and IT programming using complex engineering tools and methods will all be part of this. This centre, which is equipped with cutting-edge software tools and labs, will focus on areas such as connectivity, cyber security, big data, advanced analytics, system integration, and electrification. The design team will concentrate on creating best-in-class items to transform the interiors and exteriors of the company's diverse fleet of trucks and buses.
