The residents of South Delhi can now charge their electric vehicles at Delhi's first private EV charging point. The Delhi government has installed the city's first private electric vehicle charger as part of its single-window service, which was launched in November 2021. Delhi Government's single-window facility aims to promote the rapid deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in private and semi-public locations such as flats, group housing societies, hospitals, malls, and theatres throughout the city.
The first EV charging point is located in a resident's home in DDA apartments, Munirka, South Delhi, and is part of the BSES discom BRPL region. While the facility's second private EV charger was installed in Vivek Vihar in East Delhi.

With the help of Switch online, the single-window portal, the consumers of BSES discoms BRPL and BYPL can get a private EV charging point installed at their houses, group housing societies, multi-story residential complexes, offices, and commercial spaces, among other places. The city's transportation department has appointed twelve companies to install charging stations. The government will be able to establish and utilise charging stations within seven working days after receiving applications owing to the single-window facility. Customers can even schedule the charging stations to be installed at their leisure. The effort intends to improve both private and public electric vehicle charging infrastructure around the city.
The government is providing a one-time subsidy of Rs 6,000 for the first 30,000 charging points in the city in order to promote and grow the private charging network. Consumers can acquire EV chargers through the single-window interface from empanelled vendors on a Capex or subscription basis.

The consumer pays the complete amount to the vendor in equal monthly installments over three years under the subscription model, after which the charge is passed to him. The Capex model includes a single, full payment to the vendor.
