Customers who want to scrap their end-of-life (ELV) commercial vehicles and replace them with new BharatBenz trucks can now do so with the help of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) and Mahindra CERO. DICV and Mahindra CERO have formed a strategic partnership to support customers with scrappage. DICV intends to give customers an end-to-end solution for scrapping their old vehicles, starting with vehicle appraisal and ending with the receipt of a Certificate of Deposit.
CERO is India's first organised automobile recycling effort, launched to minimise carbon emissions by recycling metals from ELVs in environmentally beneficial ways.

Satyakam Arya, MD & CEO of DICV, expressed his opinion, Scrappage is an important step towards reducing carbon footprint and old, polluting vehicles from Indian roads, which is the need of the hour. This is an opportunity for customers to replace their old fleet with new, BS-VI BharatBenz trucks, manufactured locally in India with a high standard of safety, quality, comfort, and state-of-the-art technology. We see great potential for new truck sales with the effective implementation of the scrappage policy.
MMRPL director and Mahindra Intertrade MD Sumit Issar remarked, CERO is Indias first government-authorized recycler for motor vehicles built on the PPP model, focused on achieving zero pollution while vehicle recycling. We have a presence in 20+ cities across the country. Further, CERO has plans to have a presence in 30+ cities within the next 8-10 months. The arrangement with DICV is going to focus on making the entire process hassle-free for customers and strengthen the reach and benefit all the customers who are looking for solutions for scrapping their old vehicles and replacing them with DICV vehicles

India is home to three of the world's ten most polluted cities, with vehicle pollution accounting for 15-30% of the overall pollution in locations like Mumbai and Delhi NCR. Vehicle scrapping services will help to phase out unsuitable and polluting automobiles in a sustainable manner while also boosting new vehicle sales.
BharatBenz dealerships can now scrap customers' ELVs via CERO's platform. The dealership teams have received significant training and paperwork assistance to guarantee smooth operations. As a result of this collaborative effort, the dealerships will be able to expand their service base, attract new customers, and contribute to environmental initiatives.
