Italian Two-wheeler manufacturer - Ducati has just launched its first BS6-compliant Multistrada in India. The new 2020 Ducati Multistrada 950 S BS6 has been launched in the country and it is the smallest multi-bike in the company's portfolio. In terms of looks, the new Multistrada 950 S resembles its elder sibling Multistrada 1260 to a certain extent and that's really nice! The price of the new 2020 Ducati Multistrada 950 S BS6 is Rs. 15.49 lakhs, Ex-showroom pan-India. Now, let's have a closer look at this motorcycle.
The new Ducati Multistrada 950 S is powered by a BS6-compliant 937cc, Testastretta 110 L-twin cylinder engine. This liquid-cooled fuel-injected motor churns out 113 PS of maximum power at 9000 RPM and 96 Nm of peak torque at 7750 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and it also gets a bi-directional quick-shifter along with advanced ride-by-wire throttle technology. The new Multistrada 950 S is based on a tubular steel trellis frame and it gets a new lighter double-sided aluminium swingarm, giving the motorcycle excellent dynamic performance.
Talking about hardware components, the new Multistrada 950 S gets iconic semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) with 170 mm of travel. At the front, it gets 48 mm USD forks and a mono-shock absorber at the rear and these electronic shockers are continuously adjusted by DSS. For braking duties, it gets twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc unit at the rear with dual-channel ABS and a host of other electronic aids. The motorcycle can be had with both spokes as well as cast alloy wheels. At the front, it gets a 19-inch tyre while the rear one is a 17-inch unit and they come wrapped in new Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres.

Now, talking about electronics, the Multistrada 950 S gets Bosch Cornering ABS with IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL), Cruise Control and many more. The motorcycle also gets four different riding modes - Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro and each mode can be programmed to have different settings for the ABS and traction control. It also features a full-LED headlight, a 5-inch colour TFT display and even backlit handlebar controls. The kerb weight of the motorcycle is 230 kilograms and it gets a 20-litre fuel tank.

The Multistrada family has gained immense popularity in India considering the growing popularity of long-distance touring and our idea behind the new Multistrada 950 S is to make Sports touring more accessible, allowing riders to explore the beautiful terrain that India has to offer."

As already mentioned before, the price of the new Ducati Multistrada 950 S BS6 is Rs. 15.49 lakhs, Ex-showroom pan-India.
