While a few years ago, the EV segment especially the two-wheelers was started up by small-scale start-ups like Ather Energy; but over time, big giants such as Yamaha, Tata, Hero Electric have also jumped in the EV market. Yamaha has recently launched their Neo electric scooter, whereas the MG recently launched their new 2022 ZS EV.
The growing sales figures of EVs in India has attracted a lot of big manufacturers to develop and manufacture India centric EV products. Sooner or later, more manufacturers are anticipated to jump in the ocean of EVs.

With the consistently growing fuel price hikes globally, EVs have suddenly found a lot of buyers in the international as well as domestic markets. Also contributing to this sales increase is the semiconductor shortage which is being faced by manufacturers globally. The long waiting periods for products and availability of EVs have contributed to the increment in the sales figures.
In the upcoming time, it is anticipated that many more manufacturers shall dive into the EV segments. An example of this is the newly formed joint-venture of Hero Electric and Mahindra which recently launched a new product called the Optima electric-scooter. Many such joint ventures are supposed to form in the upcoming future as the EV charging infrastructure keeps developing along.
