In India, the demand for electric vehicles is at an all-time high, and both established manufacturers and up-and-coming companies are aggressively entering the market. Three new electric scooters dubbed the Cosmo, Comet, and Czar have recently been introduced in India by EVeium, an electric mobility startup, and division of Ellysium Automotives, the automotive division of the United Arab Emirates-based business META4 Group. The brand has a starting price of Rs. 1.44 lakh for the Cosmo EV scooter. The Comet costs Rs. 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom).
EVeium Cosmo - Rs 1.44 Lakh
The Cosmo is a retro looking scooter with rounded panels. The scooter doesn't have any sharp edges, cuts, or folds, which is another advantage of its exterior design. The Cosmo is the entry level scooter from the brand.
When it comes to the Cosmo's technical details and battery capacity, it comes with a 2kW BLDC motor with a top speed of 65kmph and an advertised range of 80km. A Lithium-ion 72V and 30Ah battery powers the EVeium Cosmo. The manufacturer states that it takes 4 hours to fully charge the battery. The braking duties on the scooter are done by front disc brake and rear drum brakes. The scooter is also offered in five stylish colours: Blue, Bright Black, Cherry Red, White, Lemon Yellow, and Grey.
EVeium Comet - Rs 1.92 Lakh
The EVeium Comet comes with a bigger 3kW motor which can take the scooter up to a top speed of 85 kmph. Comet features a larger 72V and 50ah Li-ion battery from EVeium, it gets a claimed range of 150 km. Wine Red, White, Royal Blue, Shiny Black, Matt Black, and Beige are the colour options for the Comet.
In terms of functionality, both scooters have three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. This is in addition to the scooter's other features, which include an LCD instrument cluster, keyless entry, regenerative braking, find my car, overspeed alarms, and more. Additionally, the Comet has a reverse driving option. The scooters may be reserved at EVeium dealerships in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kozhikode for Rs 999 in booking fees.
