Ampere Magnus

Last Updated on 26th Mar'24 : The Ampere Magnus EX is a cool electric scooter with a sleek look. It's got a comfy seat and plenty of space for your feet, perfect for long rides. You can go 80 to 100 kilometres on just one charge, and you can charge it anywhere using a regular 5A socket.

Battery and Motor: The Ampere Zeal EX shares its powertrain – electric motor and battery – with the slightly more expensive Magnus EX. It means that it sources its power from a hub-mounted 1.8 kW electric motor., With this new motor setup, the Zeal EX can do a 0-40 kmph sprint in 10 seconds and has a top speed in the range of 50-55 kmph. The Zeal EX also gets the same 2.3 kWh lithium-ion fixed battery setup from the Magnus EX, which takes around 6-7 hours for a full charge. With this new larger-sized battery, the Zeal EX offers a maximum riding range of 120 km, which is even more than what the Ampere Magnus EX is claiming.

Design and features: Retaining the original design of the erstwhile-available Zeal, the new Ampere Zeal EX comes with a fresh set of graphics on the front apron, front fender and side body panels. The scooter comes with an apron-mounted triangular halogen headlight, while the handlebar cowl features additional pilot lamps and clear lens turn indicators. The Ampere Zeal EX has an all-halogen setup for the tail lamp unit as well, which comes with a compact alloy grab rail. The scooter comes with a utilitarian fully-digital instrument console with essential information on display and a few features like an under seat storage compartment and 12V power socket. The rest of the mechanical setup of the Ampere Zeal EX is pretty basic with telescopic forks at the front, dual coil springs at the rear, 10-inch steel wheels with tubeless tyres and 130mm drum brakes at both ends. However, it misses out on a few other features which the other electric scooters from Ampere Electric get, such as reverse mode and an LED headlamp.

Colours: Currently, the Ampere Zeal EX is available in a single colour option of dark bluish grey, which is adorned with contrasting neon graphics on the front fender, apron and side body panels.

Rivals:Priced at Rs 69,900, the Ampere Zeal EX is one of the most affordable all-electric scooters which one can buy in India., At this price, it competes with scooters like Okinawa Ridge+, Hero Optima EX and Pure EV Epluto 7G.
