Variant Recommendation

author
TVS Jupiter comes in 4 variants based on the features and hardware it offers. The second variant Jupiter Drum Alloy is a decent variant if you don’t want DRLs, a connected feature, a disc brake, and a digital display. This variant is well-priced and offers a bare-bone option for buyers who just want a scooter for their daily chores. Moreover, if you want connected tech with a digital display and LED DRL then the Drum Alloy SXC variant can be an option. However, if you don't want to miss out on any features, the top-spec variant is recommended.

Should I buy the Jupiter?

The TVS Jupiter is one of the top-selling scooters in India. It is a sturdy scooter. It has no panel gaps and good fit and finish. Also, its unique design stands out on the road. TVS provides many models. The premium ones have Xonnect Bluetooth and LED lights. The engine performance of Jupiter is torque-rich and it also churns out good fuel economy. However, its long-term reliability is not as good as Honda Activa and there are also mild vibrations on it. We recommend it to those who want a comfortable scooter with large storage space and a peppy engine.

Modern Design With Sharp Looks 8.5
  • The Jupiter now boasts a modern design with sharp body panels. The front profile gets a sharp nose with new infinite LED DRL, a new piano black treatment on the front apron, redesigned headlamp assembly with LED headlamp. The side profile gets sharp body lines and Jupiter badges in chrome.
  • Moving to the rear, the scooter now gets a new infinite LED tail lamp with integrated turn signals, piano black surrounds near the tail lamp, and piano black pillion grab rail.
  • In the base variant, the LED DRL is replaced by piano black trim and the rear end misses an infinite LED tail lamp, instead it gets a normal LED tail lamp.
  • The new TVS Jupiter is available in 6 colour options comprising 3 Matte and 3 Gloss colours namely Meteor Red Gloss, Dawn Blue matte, Galactic Copper matte, Starlight Blue gloss, Lunar White gloss, and Titanium Grey matte.

With the new update Jupiter has improved a lot, it now offers a more modern design, more features, improved dynamics, and an efficient engine. The Jupiter offers a fully digital cluster, LED DRL, hazard lamp, and Bluetooth connectivity among other features. On the other hand, Activa offers a classy design as compared to Jupiter, also it has an analog cluster but misses Bluetooth connectivity, LED DRL, and other features that Jupiter offers. However, the Activa comes with a Honda H-Smart keyless variant which offers keyless operations. The price of the TVS Jupiter starts at Rs 73,700 (ex-showroom), while the Honda Activa starts at Rs 76,684 (ex-showroom).

On the other hand, the new Jupiter beats it by offering some more features such as Voice Assist, Turn-By-Turn navigation, digital instrument cluster, hazard lamp, and more. The TVS Jupiter 110 (2024 model) does not have a kickstart in the higher variants, which is a key feature needed by many users. This is especially important for people living in villages, where scooters might not start due to battery issues, and a kickstart becomes essential. TVS should prioritize basic features like kickstart and disc brakes for safety, rather than focusing on advanced options like navigation, OBD, and daylight lamps. Due to this concern, I can only rate it one star ?. However, I hope TVS considers these needs and brings back such essential features in future models.
