400 Km With The New TVS Jupiter 110 - Comprehensive Review!

Scooters have been an important part of the Indian two-wheeler industry. The major two-wheeler manufacturers keep updating their scooter lineup with new models, features, and variant updates. A few months back, one of the biggest two-wheeler makers in India, TVS Motor Company launched its top-selling Jupiter 110 scooter in an all-new avatar.

TVS Jupiter has received a substantial update after being in the market for 11 years. The new Jupiter 110 comes with a major design overhaul, an enhanced platform, new features, and an updated engine. It has now become a fierce rival in its segment and offers many better things. I had the new TVS Jupiter 110 with me for a week, and in this period, I've ridden the scooter for around 400 km in Delhi-NCR. First Impression - Design & Styling

2024 TVS Jupiter

Jupiter has received a major design change, which gives it a striking look. The brand has not only offered futuristic design elements but also kept its family-oriented design language. The new design comprises a sharper-looking front apron with a new LED DRL strip that gives it a modern appeal. The brand has also tweaked the headlamp assembly. It looks somewhat similar to the previous generation, but it is now sharper and gets LED lighting.

The scooter's side profile now features sharper lines while offering a clean silhouette. The fit and finish of the panels are top-notch, and there are no sharp edges. The rear of the scooter also has an updated design. It now has a single LED taillamp with piano black surroundings and integrated turn signals. The new Dawn Blue Matte colour looks quite premium and appealing with the new design of the scooter.

Functionality & Practicality

The new design of the Jupiter now offers better functionality and practicality as well. TVS has relocated the fuel tank from under the seat to the front, similar to the Jupiter 125. This change expands the under-seat storage to 33 litres, offering more space for your luggage and helmet. The under-seat area can easily store two half-faced helmets, though fitting a premium full-face helmet is difficult. Moreover, the floorboard area now offers more space to keep some stuff between your legs. The brand claims that the floorboard area can easily accommodate an LPG cylinder.

TVS Jupiter

The front fuel filler cap offers more convenience at the fuel pump, now the rider doesn't need to get off the scooter to open and close the fuel filler cap like the previous generation. The seat of the scooter is now longer than the previous generation, it can easily accommodate two adults and some luggage in between. Additionally, the front area gets a cubby hole that can easily hold a 1-litre water bottle.

Performance

Along with updating the aesthetics of the scooter, the brand has also worked on the engine performance as well. The Jupiter gets a new 113.3cc engine producing 8 bhp of power and 9.2 Nm of peak torque. This engine offers a refined riding experience. The power and torque delivery is linear and it offers better acceleration than the previous generation scooter. Moreover, the brand has offered a new mild-hybrid setup called the TVS iGo Assist which enhances the torque output to 9.8 Nm for a few seconds. The iGo Assist helps in making quick maneuvers and overtakes and you can feel that extra torque while doing overtakes.

The new 113.3cc engine is one of the smoothest engines in the segment. It offers good acceleration and the NVH levels are well maintained. The scooter does not feel vibey and it remains stable at high speeds as well. The cruising speed of 60-65 kmph is the sweet spot for the scooter but it does not feel strained even at 80-90 kmph.

If we talk about efficiency, the scooter gives easy 50-55 km/l mileage in the city. The iGo Assist helps enhance fuel efficiency, and the idle start/stop system also helps enhance efficiency. The start/stop system is seamless and it responds quickly when the scooter comes to a halt. However, one might take time to get accustomed to the idle start/stop system.

Ride & Handling

The Jupiter now comes with bigger 12-inch wheels which offers it more stable ride quality. The scooter continues to get the telescopic front fork and adjustable spring shocks at the rear. The tuning of the suspension is done on the neutral side, it offers a comfortable ride quality to the rider as well as to the pillion. The suspension comfortably absorbs the uneven surfaces, preventing any harsh jolts from reaching your back. The front offers good absorption while the rear is a bit on the softer side but not too unsettling.

The braking setup comprises front disc and rear drum brakes. reliable braking performance. It's neither too sharp nor too dull. The scooter comes to a stop effortlessly, and the combined braking system enhances confidence during braking.

Features

TVS Jupiter

The new Jupiter comes with a plethora of features. It comes with an infinity LED DRL with integrated turn signals, auto-cancel winkers, an LED headlamp, a digital instrument cluster with TVS SmartXonnect features, a hazard lamp, TVS iGO Assist, turn-by-turn navigation support, idle start-stop among other features.

Verdict

The 2024 TVS Jupiter has been improved in every aspect. It will keep the rider happy with its refined engine and smooth performance. Moreover, it is one of the most feature loaded 110cc scooter available in the Indian market. It keeps the rider and pillion comfortable with its long seat and good ride quality, the instrument cluster features offer more convenience to the riders. For those who don't want these fancy features, the brand is offering the scooter in two more variants with no connectivity and the base variant comes with an analogue cluster offering more old school appeal.
