Suzuki Burgman Street Test Mule - What's New?

Suzuki Burgman Facelift

The newly spotted test mule was heavily camouflaged, but its silhouette remains similar to the current version. The front boasted a small windscreen similar to the current version. It retains the chunky front design and continues to get the apron-mounted headlamp, but the light element inside the headlamp seems a bit different. Moving to the sides, the side panels remain unchanged, and the position of the pillion footpegs is positioned similarly to the current model. However, a notable update is the new exhaust canister with chrome highlight, which is similar to the one used in the Suzuki Access 125. Additionally, the seat was in a single-colour treatment. On the other hand, this might point to an upcoming lower version.

The test mule was spotted with a digital instrument console, similar to the one on the current model, with its placement remaining unchanged. On the features front, a few additions can be expected. However, the current version already comes well-equipped with features like Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and SMS & call alerts, among others. Moreover, we can expect the addition of a hazard lamp as a part of the new update.

The brand has recently updated the engine to make it OBD2B compliant, and we don't expect any changes to the engine and hardware of the upcoming version. It will continue to use the same 124cc engine with 8.6 PS of power and 10 Nm of torque. On the hardware front, the alloys appear similar to the current model, and it is expected to retain the 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels.

Verdict

Suzuki Burgman was launched in 2018, and since then, the scooter has received minor updated in terms of colour options, feature update, variant update but has yet to undergo a facelift. The recently spotted test mule hints at an upcoming facelift. The upcoming model will compete with the new rival in the segment the Hero Xoom 125, along with the TVS Ntorq 125, and other 125cc scooters.
