Auto Expo 2023 is turning out to be the biggest center stage for EVs this time. But the automotive giants have also populated other categories with new variants and concepts. On the second media day of the Auto Expo 2023, a whole range of Flex Fuel bikes have been showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. Major players in the motorcycle market including Yamaha, Hero, TVs, and others have introduced upcoming bikes that will be using a flex-fuel system. Lets take a look at the models and spec sheet:
Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 FFV prototype has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. This upcoming Gixxer bike will use a single-cylinder 4-cycle flex-fuel (oil-cooled) engine. The peak torque generated by this engine will be 22.2Nm@7300rpm and the peak power will be 19.5kW@9300rpm. This bike will offer 6-speed manual transmission and feature a 12l fuel tank. It will support a Flex fuel range of E20-E85.
Honda XRE 300 Rally
Another Flex fuel bike showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 is the Honda XRE 300 Rally. This will be an adventure bike powered by a 291.7 cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine. This DOHC, air-cooled engine will offer 27.4NM peak torque@6000rpm and a peak power of 25.6@7500 rpm. The Honda XRE 300 Rally bike will have a 13.8 liters fuel tank with an E20-E85 Flex-fuel usage range.
Hero Glamour Xtech
Hero also showcased its iteration of a Flex fuel bike in the form of the Glamour Xtech. With a 124.7 cc 4-stroke air-cooled engine, the Glamour Xtech will deliver around 10.6 Nm torque @6000 rpm and a peak power of 10.7bhp@7500 rpm. This bike will also come with a 5-speed manual transmission like the Honda XRE 300 Rally but has a smaller 10l fuel tank. The kerb weight of Glamor Xtech is 123 kg.
Bajaj Pulsar NS160
Bajaj also participated in the Auto Expo 2023 event and showcased the Pulsar NS 160 with Flex fuel technology and 160.37 cc engine displacement. This street-style bike will have a 12-liter fuel tank capacity and an E0-E85 flex fuel usage range. The 4-stroke air-cooled SI engine churns out 14.6NM torque and a peak power of 12.5 kW@8500 rpm. The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 weighs 151 kg (kerb weight).
Yamaha FZ-15 ABS
Yamaha introduced the FZ-15 with Flex fuel technology at the Auto Expo 2023 with a 149 cc engine displacement. This new bike will ship with a 2-valve, 4-stroke air-cooled engine with 5-speed manual transmission. It has an 11.9 l fuel tank capacity and an E20- E100 flex fuel usage range.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V
The Apache RTR 160 showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 is another flex fuel bike. It will come with a 159.7 cc oil-cooled engine that will generate 14.73 Nm @ 7250 rpm. Its peak power capacity of 17.55 kW@9250 rpm. It has a 12L fuel tank capacity with E20- E85 flex fuel range support.
