Just a few days ago, Ford launched the new Flair Edition of the Freestyle CUV (compact utility vehicle) in the Indian market. The Flair Edition gets subtle cosmetic upgrades and overall, it enhances the rugged appeal of the Freestyle. The Freestyle Flair Edition is based on the top-spec Titanium+ trim of the car. Now, it seems that Ford is planning to introduce a special edition model for its full-size SUV Endeavour too. The new Ford Endeavour Sport Edition was recently spied in India hinting its imminent launch.
The new Ford Endeavour Sport Edition was spotted in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The spied test car wasn't wearing any camouflage. From the pics, we can make out it is the new Sport Edition as it gets Sport badging on the tailgate. Also, there are some other cosmetic changes too. While the regular Endeavour gets a lot of chrome accents, the new Sport Edition will get blacked-out treatment. Though the spied images aren't of the best quality, we can still make out that the SUV gets subtle black inserts and black alloy wheels. Also, Sport badging can be seen on the side profile.

Just like the black inserts on the exterior, we believe the new Sport Edition of the Endeavour will get black treatment inside the cabin too. We do not expect any feature add-ons as the Endeavour is already a well-equipped full-size SUV. Talking about the features, it gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen advanced SYNC-3 infotainment system. This system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and it also gets Ford's Pass system. Some other features include a big panoramic sunroof, premium 10-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, hands-free powered tailgate, terrain management system, hands-free semi-auto parking and many more.
The Sport Edition of the Endeavour will get purely cosmetic updates and it won't get any mechanical changes. Powering this full-size SUV is an all-new BS6-compliant 2.0-litre EcoBlue oil-burner. This diesel motor churns out 170 PS of maximum power at 3500 RPM and 420 Nm of peak torque between 2000-2500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox and it can be had with both 4x2 as well as 4x4 drivetrains. The ARAI-claimed fuel-efficiency figure of the new BS6-compliant Endeavour 4x2 is 13.9 kmpl while the 4x4 variant delivers 12.4 kmpl.

Talking about the launch timeline and price expectation, we believe the launch of the Ford Endeavour Sport Edition is very imminent. Most likely it will be launched before the festive season of this year. The Sport Edition will be most likely based on the top-spec trim of the Endeavour and if that is the case, it will charge a slight premium over the current price. At present, the new 2020 Ford Endeavour BS6 is priced between Rs. 29.99 lakhs - Rs. 34.45 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. It will rival against the Toyota Endeavour and the Mahindra Alturas G4.
