First Ford F150 Lightning Electric Pickup Rolls Off Production Line

Ford Motor Company has recently rolled out the first pre-production of its F-150 Lightning Truck in the U.S. from Ford's new Rogue Electric Vehicle Center. Ford also stated that it is ready to increase its investment and open vacancies to boost its production capacity.

Ford for the first time is ready to produce its first ever F-Series which is gas-free and offers much more updated technology, a better driving experience and trusted Built Ford Tough capability.

Ford with its all-new Electric Truck is offering connected, intelligent features with over-the-air Software Updates to help ensure that the truck can get even better over time.

Ford is in a plan to increase its production capacity to 80,000 trucks in a year. It has also decided to invest another $250 million and hire more than 400 people for its Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, Van Dyke Electric Powertrain Center and Rawsonville Components Plant.

The F-150 Lightning would start at a price of $40,000. The estimated driving range of the truck would be around 300 miles.

The truck has already received more than 150,000 reservations till now and is aimed at the heart of the U.S. auto market.

The Rouge Electric Vehicle Centre was constructed almost a year ago. It was a part of a $700 million investment.

All the centres have been assigned separate tasks for the faster production of its F-150 Lightning. Ford might launch this F-150 truck in the next spring season.

The company's decision of investing and hiring more manpower to its ELectric centers is an attractive offer to reduce the production time and increase the manufacturing units.

Most of the workers will assemble the F-150 Lightning at Rogue Electric Vehicle Center, batteries will be assembled at Rawsonville Components Plant, and the supply of electric motors and electric transaxles for the F-150 Lightning will be done at Van Dyke Electric Powertrain.

Bill Ford, executive chair, Ford Motor Company said, We knew the F-150 Lightning was special, but the interest from the public has surpassed our highest expectations and changed the conversation around electric vehicles. So we are doubling down, adding jobs and investment to increase production.

He further added that this truck and the Ford Motors-UAW workers who are assembling the truck in Michigan have the chance to make history and lead the electric vehicle movement in America.
