
Soon after ceasing manufacturing operations in India, Ford India has confined that the brand will continue with the service operations with at least 90 per cent of its dealers in India. The American carmaker also confirmed that it has fixed the Ford Spare Parts price in India and will continue to offer a dependable service network in more than 240 cities. Ford India is in talks with the dealers across the country and is discussing Dealer Service Agreement to ensure that the Ford vehicle owners get quality after-sales support. The brand has also shared that a few of the dealers may not sign this agreement and hence, we may see a small reduction in the number of dealers in a few cities in India. The American carmaker has tied up with dealers to service the cars for the next ten years and has locked the spare parts and consumables price for the next five years. For the same, the brand has also stocked up the inventory with enough components in its parts depots in Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Sanand, and Kolkata.

Furthermore, the brand has also announced that it will be paying a compensatory amount to the dealers in instalments every six months to help the dealers avoid any major losses that have and will incur due to the lost sales. For is planning to pay a set amount to the dealers based on the average sales figures of a said dealership. The brand is also taking into consideration the decline in the service business as there will be around 10 per cent reduction in the dealer's service load. If reports are to be believed, the brand will be spending over Rs 5,000 crore on its exit from the mass market segment in India. This includes dealer settlement and compensating other entities like suppliers and employees. In addition to this, this amount will also consist of the expenses that will occur in charting the company's future business plans here in India.

Having said this, going forward, Ford is now all set to introduce a number of high-end imported models in the Indian market. These will include the Mustang Mach-E and the Mustang GT. The American carmaker might also introduce other SUVs and more premium products in the country. These models will be sold through a smaller and more efficient retail network.
