Harley Davidson Showcases ARROW Platform, To Spawn 3 Affordable models

The "ARROW" platform is a scalable and modular architecture. It can accommodate lightweight, middle-weight, and heavy-weight motorcycles with varied battery sizes.

In a recent presentation to investors, Harley Davidsons electric company LiveWire showcased their future EV models. The new models will be based on the brands ARROW platform. The new, the S2, S3, and S4 models will be a range of entry-level, lightweight, middle-weight, and heavy-weight motorcycles. All three bikes will share the same scalable modular architecture, with different battery sizes and performance capacity.

LiveWire spun off as a separate brand from Harley Davidson this year, however, officially it is not a publicly-traded company, yet. Its sales reports are still shared as part of Harley Davidsons report. The brand needs to raise $ 545 million to fund its operations and R&D until full profitability in 2026. In order to raise investments, LiveWires presented their future plans to investors,

Once public, Harley Davidson will own 74 percent of LiveWire, ABIC shareholders will have 17%, and ABIC founders and Kymco will hold 4% each.

Since the three new models will share the same platform, it will lower the investment for production costs, and also make it More flexible to evolving regulations. a standout feature of the new platform is that, unlike the LiveWire One, the ARROW does not have a separate frame. The battery pack, which comes packed in an alloy case, forms a kind of monocoque chassis where the steering head section is bolted to the front. The radiator comes mounted behind the front wheel, and the motor and swingarm come attached to the rear. Theres a sense of compactness in the graphic representation of the chassis. The sketches of the potential motorcycle showcase a lean body style.

LiveWire says that the batteries will be built around 21700 format cells. It will be made in 50V, 100V, 350V, and 400+V forms, available with either liquid-cooled or air-cooled. The first of the new motorcycles to launch will be the middleweight LiveWire S2 Del Mar. It is expected to look like to the sketched motorcycle you see above. The S2-range will be followed by the lightweight, entry-level S3 bike. It will come equipped with a smaller battery and it will be a scaled-down model of the S2. Finally, LiveWire will launch its heavy-weight range of S4 motorcycles, which will replace the current-production Harley Davidson LiveWire.
