Haryana Vehicle Scrappage Policy 2022 To Launch Soon - Read Details

Haryana Vehicle Scrappage Policy for 2022 is soon going to be initiated in the state. As per it, old petrol & diesel vehicles shall be scrapped.

  • Applicable on 10 years old diesel & 15 years old petrol vehicles
  • Incentives to be given up to 25 percent on registration tax of any new vehicle
  • Fitness fees are to be increased for vehicles with critical age

Finally, the Haryana vehicle scrappage policy is going to be implied in the state. The government of India has passed the draft submitted by the Haryana state government. Meanwhile, the policy shall be implemented in the coming days inside the Haryana state. However, vehicles older than the specified age limit can be used by getting fitness approval from the government. Meanwhile, the re-fitness rates for vehicles with the critical age limit have also been revised.

Haryana Vehicle Scrappage Policy Details

The main aim of the scrappage policy is to generate a loop-based economy that is based on the reuse and recycling of old vehicles. According to this policy, users with old vehicles shall be able to buy new vehicles with scrappage rebates. The policy stands for 10 years or older diesel and 15 years or older petrol vehicles in the state. Additionally, rebate rates of up to 25 percent on the registration tax of new vehicles shall be given to the surrendered vehicle owners.

According to the published report, a 10 percent rebate will be available on the motor vehicle tax chargeable or 50 percent of the scrapped values as mentioned in the certificate of the deposit. These values shall be automatically selected depending upon whichever is lower or higher.

Haryana Vehicle Scrappage Policy

As the report published by PTI, " The State Policy will be applicable to all end-of-life vehicles, Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs), Registering Authorities and departments who are supposed to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the registration of RVSFs. Under this Policy, the vehicles which have completed the critical age of 10 years, in the case of diesel vehicles and 15 years in the case of petrol vehicles shall be scrapped. An incentives-based system will be introduced to facilitate the phasing out the unfit vehicles. Furthermore, disincentives will be utilized to make use of old unfit vehicles, a costly affair" said the statement.

Additionally, the government statement also included the words that " The Policy also objectifies an increase in the State Exchequer by promoting the purchase of vehicles in replacement by motor vehicle owners. The monetary benefit will be given to the buyers of the motor vehicles to encourage them to scrape their vehicles".
