Several models from the portfolio will see this price increase, although the brand hasn't yet said which ones. The new price increase will be implemented in order to bring automobiles into compliance with the upcoming OBD-2 regulations. All two-wheelers must be compatible with OBD, or On-Board Diagnostics, as of April 1.

Hero Motocorp Price Hike
The upcoming price increase will result from the engine's upgrade, since all two-wheelers must have an onboard diagnostics system in order to comply with the BS-6 phase 2 emission requirements. This requires that automobiles have sensors and technology that can identify problems with them and warn the owner. In addition to this, the vehicles need to comply with RDE compliance, which stands for real driving emissions. OBD-2 is designed to continuously check a vehicle's emission levels and notify the owner if they go above or below acceptable limits.
The models that will receive the hike will be announced soon by Hero Motocorp, and the specific hike amount varies on the location and the model. The company will also keep providing tempting financing options and discounts. Every other manufacturer is working to update its portfolio in preparation of the upcoming compliance, much as Hero Motocorp. We can expect hearing about the price increase from other two-wheeler manufacturers as well.
