Activa 6G Smart Variant Details
As per the approval type document that has been uploaded online, Honda Activa 6G will have total 3 variants. The new variant is going to be called Smart. Additionally, Honda has already sent invites to the media with a theme called 'H-Snart'. With that said, the overall design of it will likely remain the same. However, Honda will suspectedly use different design elements to make it stand apart from the standard & DLX variants.
Meanwhile, interesting thing to notice in the type approval document is its technical specifications. The upcoming Activa variant will get a lighter chassis. The document says that the Smart variant is 1kg lighter than the regular Activa. Additionally, it is suspected to get more power as the document shows 7.74bhp (higher than the current models).
However, being 'Smart' it will get new connected features. While there is no solid information on its features list; we suspect a few. It might get the hill hold assist, anti-theft alaram system, Honda Ignitions Security System (HISS), etc. Meanwhile, its engine will remain unchanged. Hence, the 109.51cc BS6 engine will keep paying its duty on the Smart variant as well. In terms of pricing, we think that Honda will keep it on the top of 6G nomenclature. Therefore, we expect that Smart version will be priced a few thousand more than the DLX version.
Verdict
Honda Activa has been testament to bulletproof reliability and fuel economy. Meanwhile, its rivals have constantly updated themselves with new features & connected tech. Hence, the addition of a Smart variant was much necessary. This new version is suspected to launch on 23 January. Some of its main rivals are TVS Jupiter & Hero Maestro Edge 110. We'll bring you all of its official details asap once it gets launched. Until then; stay tuned.
