Honda Activa Electric Digital Cluster And Features
This time around, Honda has showcased two digital clusters; a modern TFT unit which appears to be identical to what is offered on the CUV e electric scooter in international markets. The second unit appears to be a more basic, but still modern-looking LCD digital cluster.
Let's look at the first digital cluster shown in the teaser clip. This is a TFT cluster which looks rather clean and sophisticated. Apart from all the basic information, this cluster also shows things such as two riding modes: standard, and sport, and other things include on-board navigation, music streaming, and hands-free calls/SMS functions.
This set of features and the same TFT cluster is available with the CUV e electric scooter in international markets. This suggests that Honda is planning to unveil the CUV e here.
Honda has also shown a second instrument cluster, which appears to be a more conventional, basic LCD cluster. Not much can be said about this unit, except that this cluster also shows a 'standard' mode, along with 'trip 1', which means the speculated Activa Electric could be equipped with at least three riding modes and two trip meters, but it won't be as feature-loaded.
The Japanese bikemaker could possibly showcase the Activa Electric alongside the CUV e, giving buyers two options in the EV segment. With the CUV e, Honda could target premium buyers, while the Activa Electric could be for someone looking for the regular Activa's practicality and fuss-free nature, but in an EV form.

Honda had plans to launch two new electric scooters on a completely new electric platform, and that there would be a fixed-battery scooter and one with swappable battery packs. Given that the CUV e comes with swappable battery packs in global markets, the Activa Electric could likely be the one to come with a fixed battery pack.
Both scooters will also be powered by a hub-mounted electric motor, as shown in one of the teasers. The CUV e produces 8bhp from its electric motor, and it is backed by two 1.3kW swappable battery packs. It covers a WMTC-claimed range of 70km on a single charge, and reaches a top speed of 80kmph. We can expect the Activa Electric to get a slightly higher range with its fixed battery pack, while performance should be on-par with regular 110cc scooters.
Verdict
If Honda does plan to enter the Indian EV segment with two products, it only increases their chances at success. While the CUV e could be positioned as a more premium offering, the Activa Electric could be positioned as a more affordable, accessible electric scooter that capitalizes on the brand recall of the regular Activa.
