After launching the Elevate Black Edition, Honda Cars India has hiked the prices of there popular sedan and compact SUV; City and Elevate. The revised price shows hike of Rs 20,000 on almost every variant, but the latest Black Edition is unaffected until now. Honda City
One of the oldest-selling sedans in India since 1998, the Honda City is currently in its 5th generation, and its price has increased by Rs 20,000 across all variants. Before the hike, the starting price was Rs 11.82 lakh (ex-showroom) and went up to Rs 16.55 lakh. Now, each variant has become costlier by Rs 20,000. Additionally, this sedan is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine that produces 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox.
Honda Elevate
The Elevate, the only compact SUV from Honda India, which recently achieved the milestone of 70,000 total sales, has also been affected by the price hike. However, the newly launched Black Edition is not. Additionally, the Black Edition is only available in the ZX (top variant) and is priced at Rs 15.51 lakh for the 6-MT and Rs 16.73 lakh for the CVT. The engine specifications are similar to the Honda City.

Verdict
The price hike was expected, as every other automobile company has increased their prices and notified it before the end of 2024. However, people who are planning to buy these cars need not worry, as they might receive a significant discount at the dealer level, as a good amount of discount is always available on Honda cars.
