Citroen Basalt X

Citroen has introduced the Basalt X Edition in India at an introductory price of Rs 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable coupe-SUV offerings in the market. 
This special edition is primarily a feature and cosmetic upgrade, adding new styling elements and enhancements to improve its overall appeal without major mechanical changes.

The Citroën Basalt X was spotted testing ahead of its price reveal on September 5, indicating an upcoming new, more feature-loaded variant of the Basalt coupe-SUV. This version is expected to focus on added features and cosmetic enhancements, including elements like cruise control, 360-degree camera, push-button start, and updated upholstery with dual-tone interiors.

Citroen has teased the Basalt Dark Edition, hinting at an upcoming launch of a more stylish, black-themed version of its coupe-SUV.  This edition is expected to be based on the top-spec Max Turbo variant, meaning it will likely come with the 1.2L turbo-petrol engine and both manual and automatic gearbox options.

The Citroen Basalt has received its first price hike since launch, with prices now starting at Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The price increase goes up to Rs 28,000, depending on the variant, with turbo-petrol versions seeing the highest hike.

The Citroen Basalt was offered with year-end discounts of up to Rs 80,000 during December 2024, making it more attractive to buyers. These benefits were part of Citroen’s broader discount strategy across its lineup, aimed at boosting sales toward the end of the year.
