Bharat NCAP has released the safety ratings of both coupe SUVs, Tata Curvv and Citroen Basalt, recently, and now we have another big point to compare these two hotshots that get the most head-turns these days. Although the Basalt is not a real rival of the Curvv because of its low starting price and compact size, these are the only two cars with a sloping roofline and a raised back.

Tata Curvv vs Citroen Basalt: Bharat NCAP
The Tata Curvv, built on an all-new ATLAS platform, has scored a perfect 5 stars, while the Citroen Basalt received 4 stars. In terms of Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), scores are given out of 32.00, and the Curvv earned 29.50, while the Basalt scored 26.19.
Next is Child Occupant Protection (COP), where the score parameter is high, at 49.00. Here, the Curvv left the Basalt far behind by scoring 43.66, while the Citroen scored only 43.66.
Saftey Features In Curvv and Basalt
The Curvv is an expensive SUV with top trim costing Rs 19 lakh, so naturally, it brings more features and particularly, saftey features are top notch. For example, Level 2 ADAS with 20 features, 6 airbags, TPMS, rear disc brakes, 360-parking camera, lane keeping assist, ABS with EBD to name a few.
On the other hand, the top trim of Citroen Basalt costs Rs 13.83 lakh, which is far to less than Curvv. Saftey features include 6 airbags standard, ABS with EBD, hill hold, 3 point seatbelt, reverse parking sensors, rear view camera, TPMS, seat belt reminder, and ISOFIX child seats.

The Citroen Basalt looses out from Curvv, but keeping in mind its price tag and other cars at this price, it is one of the safest cars after any Tata car. Citroen engine has turn out to be a way ahead from Curvv all new 3-cyclinder Hyperion. That said, now a new reason to own a Curvv is established and shows how much Tata priortize on saftey.
