Honda Two-wheelers India is having a busy 2020. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has launched a lot of new vehicles in the Indian market this year. Also, while some other companies have just updated the mechanicals of their products to meet the BS6 emission norms, Honda has really spruced up their each and every two-wheeler. Now, the company is planning to launch a new adventure motorcycle. The upcoming adventure bike for the Indian market will be based on the new Honda Hornet 2.0.
As you all know, Honda recently launched the new Hornet 2.0 in the Indian market. The new Honda Hornet 2.0 is based on an all-new platform, gets a new powerplant and sports a host of features too. Recently, while speaking to a media publication, Atsushi Ogata, President, CEO and MD, HMSI (Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited) revealed that the company is planning to launch a new motorcycle in India. Mr Ogata recently said that the company has made a big investment for the Hornet 2.0 BS6. So, Honda is exploring the possibilities of introducing some new models based on it.

The company is currently studying the feasibility of introducing several new models on the new Hornet 2.0 platform and one of the options is an adventure motorcycle. The company might develop a smaller 180cc-200cc ADV in the near future and it might draw some design cues from its CRF 250L range that is sold in other parts of the world. The new adventure bike will be based on the Honda Hornet 2.0. Along with the platform, the ADV might share powerplant and features too with the Hornet 2.0. However, it will be designed and tuned differently to match its ADV characteristics.

The Honda Hornet 2.0 is powered by a new BS6-compliant 184.40cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It also gets a programmed fuel injection system and Honda's Eco-Technology (HET). This motor churns out 17.2 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 16.1 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
