Honda NX200 Details

honda nx200

The NX200 is Honda's attempt at making a dual-sport motorcycle, but it is actually based on the Hornet 2.0, and as such the two motorcycles share plenty of components with each other. There are no major changes to the aesthetics, with the NX200 carrying on the same design as the outgoing CB200X.

Powering the NX200 is the same 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled powertrain, which produces 16.7bhp at 8500rpm and 15.7Nm of torque at 6000rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. This is the same powertrain as before, and the only difference here is that it is now OBD2B compliant, making it run cleaner than before.

In terms of equipment, the NX200 also now gets things that are trickling to other Honda products. There is a 4.2-inch TFT screen with bluetooth connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app, which enables access to turn-by-turn navigation and calls/SMS alerts. There is also a USB C-type port available as standard.

The NX200 is available in a single variant with three paint schemes; Athletic Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Radiant Red Metallic.

Verdict

The NX200 is essentially a road bike with the appearance of a dual-sport motorcycle, which may appeal to die-hard Honda fans. At Rs 1.68 lakh, it is marginally costlier than the Xpulse 200 4V, and while it may not be as capable, it finally gets a few features that make it a bit more practical for buyers who are seriously considering it.
