Upcoming Honda scrambler bikes will be based on the Rebel platform carrying the design from the CL series. Read details below.
Honda launched the CL series back in the year 2017 and since then these 250cc and 500cc motorcycles have been a hoot in the global markets. Catering to the growing popularity of scrambler motorcycles worldwide, Honda scrambler bikes are on their way according to the sources over the internet.
Honda is currently developing two separate 250cc, and 500cc engine-based scrambler motorcycles. These motorcycles will be based on Honda's Rebel series to reduce the production costs involved.
Honda Scrambler Design
Honda will be using the design cues from their already popular CL series. The CL series has been an uber favourite among the Asian market as well as global markets. Launched back in the '60s, these CL series motorcycles feature a classic timeless design with minimalistic body panel involvements.
The round headlight, fork gaiters, dual-pod instrument cluster, large and wide handlebar, flat single-seat, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and dual-under seat upswept exhaust design are the key points of attraction in the CL series motorcycles design.
These styling cues are anticipated in the online renders of the upcoming scrambler motorcycles as well. Where the CL series used the classic spoke wheels, the scrambler motorcycles shall use alloy wheels to comply with the scrambler design language. The CL series design has already been used by Honda over the products like the CB350 and the CB350RS motorcycles.
With the design carried forward from the CL series and the underpinnings from Rebel series motorcycles, these upcoming scrambler motorcycles will be worth waiting for for Honda enthusiasts.

Scrambler Engine & Specifications
Honda is developing two different platforms for their upcoming scrambler series motorcycles. The first motorcycle will cater the entry-level scrambler segment and will feature a 249cc, single-cylinder, DOHC petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing a peak power of 26 hp and a peak torque of 22 Nm on tap. Honda shall use a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox for transmission duties.
Similarly, the bigger scrambler bike will feature a 471cc engine which produces a peak power of 46 hp and a peak torque of 43 nm. This engine can also be seen over the Honda CB500X adventure tourer motorcycle in India of which Honda slashed a big amount over the sticker price recently. Transmission shall be a 6-speed constant mesh with slip and assist clutch.
The scrambler versions will use a telescopic fork at the front and swingarm associated springs at the rear as a suspension setup. Honda will also equip both of these motorcycles with disc brakes at the front as well as at the rear with a dual-channel ABS system to assist rider safety.
One can also expect 4-eyed LED headlights, along with the LED turn indicators whilst the dual-pod instrument cluster shall use a robust LCD screen with multiple information for the rider on the go.
Honda Scrambler India Launch
According to the sources over the internet, these upcoming motorcycles are primarily being developed for the Asian markets; specifically for the Japanese market where the Honda operations have been high for years.
While the global Debut might take place sometime later this year, we can expect Honda to introduce these scramblers in India as well. Due to the growing popularity of scramblers in India and Honda's plans for expansion; these motorcycles can prove to become good rivals to the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 scrambler bike. Honda has already patented the CBR150R, NT1100, and the CRF190L in India for homologation.
