In this article, we will be examining the Honda SP125's pros and cons so that you can make an informed decision when you purchase your next motorcycle.
So what exactly makes the Honda SP125 such a strong seller? Here are the pros of the bike.
1. Loaded in terms of features - While the SP 125 is essentially what is called a commuter bike, yet Honda guys have not really skimped when it comes to loading it with features. For instance, there is a fully digital LCD screen that shows a multitude of information. This includes a distance-to-empty meter, a service reminder, and even a gear position indicator. Many bikes from 1 or even 2 segments don't get much information in their displays. Also, CBS is standard on the bike although it does not get ABS
2. Superior build quality - Unlike other bikes of the segment, the SP 125 does not really feel cheap in terms of the build. The bike feels and is indeed well put together. All wires and cables are properly concealed and efforts are indeed shown by Honda to not to make the SP125 not feel like any other commuter bike out there.
3. Engine - This is one of the biggest pros of the SP 125. The engine on this bike is not only frugal like how a commuter should be but also it is a very punchy unit. For most riders of this segment, the power will be enough for them to make the quick overtakes. Vibes are felt only when the throttle is pinned, something which is not recommended on such bikes.
However, the SP125 Does have its fair share of flaws. Here they are.
1. Bland styling - This is more of an attribute that can be seen on most bikes of this class. However, the SP125 is indeed very bland compared to the other bikes as well. The lack of sporty appeal means that the bike does not really appeal to the youth.
2. Ride quality - The SP125's suspension is more on the stiffer side compared to others. This means that while single riders who are fairly on the lighter side won't be able to notice any difficulties, the ones who are slightly heavier or are riding with a pillion over bad sections of roads might end up having a sore back.

3. Pricing - At rupees 72,900 for the base model and 77000 for the fully loaded model with disc brakes, the SP 125 is not really an inexpensive bike. It is a good 7000 rupees more than the outgoing CB Shine. This also makes the bike fairly more expensive than the rest of the rivals.
Should you buy it?
If you are looking for a bike that is frugal yet fairly well powered and loaded with features and don't really mind spending a bit extra, the Honda SP 125 indeed is a very compelling option for you.
