Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 Now Comes Equipped With New Tyres
In the images we can observe that the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has undergone a tyre upgrade, replacing the old Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. Initially, during its launch and ride-testing event, it was equipped with 17-inch spoked wheels. Although the tyres have been updated to tubeless ones, the spoked wheels on the bike are incompatible with tubeless tyres. Therefore, the tyres must be used with a tube inserted.
Govt Bans Imported Tyres: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 Forced Into Tyre Replacement
The decision to discontinue the use of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres in Svartpilen 401 can be disheartening for potential buyers. These tyres have been a favoured choice among riders for their performance in off-road conditions, adding to the appeal of the model.
However, due to government regulations on imported tyres, the company has been compelled to make this significant adjustment. To clarify, international tyre companies wishing to distribute their products in India require a license or permission from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). Consequently, OEMs are prohibited from importing tyres, thus prompting them to explore alternative options within the domestic market. These regulatory measures aim to bolster domestic manufacturing.
It's important for customers to understand that the ban on imported tyres doesn't mean they won't be available in India at all. These tyres can still be obtained from the market and fitted to your model.
