Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 Spied on Test in India Once Again; Launch Soon?

Husqvarna Motorcycles is a Swedish two-wheeler manufacturer that made its Indian debut earlier this year. Husqvarna is a subsidiary of KTM AG and both these brands come under India's Bajaj Auto. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 were launched in India in February 2020. Now, the company is soon planning to launch two new motorcycles in India, namely the Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 401. Recently, the upcoming Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has been spied on test in India once again and here we have for you all the details about it.

Talking about these bigger Huskies, so the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 were first revealed at the EICMA 2019. Initially, these two motorcycles were about to be launched in India in the first half of 2020. But, all thanks to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, it played the spoilsport and delayed the launch of these motorcycles. However, the company has been continuously testing these motorcycles on the Indian roads. Recently, a test mule of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 was spied on test on the outskirts of Pune in Maharashtra. It is worth mentioning that both the KTMs as well as the Husqvarna's are manufactured in India at Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant.

Just like their quarter-litre siblings, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 will be a street scrambler while the Vitpilen 401 will be a modern-day cafe-racer. Yes, one cannot differentiate between these two motorcycles at the first glance but if you look closely, you can differentiate between them on the basis of their paint scheme, handlebar design and fuel tank. The Vitpilen is often termed as the White Arrow while the Svartpilen is termed as Black Arrow. Now, talking about the hardware components and mechanicals of these two motorcycles. So again, just like the Husqvarna 250s and the KTM Duke 250 share a lot of cycle parts and also the powerplant. Similarly, the Husqvarna 401s will also have a lot of things in common with the KTM 390 Duke.

Also, both these Huskies will get WP Apex 43mm upside-down (USD) forks at the front and a pre-load adjustable mono-shock absorber at the rear. For braking duties, they will get a 320 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear with a dual-channel ABS as standard. Also, while the International-spec Husqvarna 401s ride on wire-spoke wheels with tubed tyres, the India-spec models might get optional alloy wheels and tubeless tyres too.
