The battle of 7-seater SUVs just got fierce as the most anticipated SUV launch is around the corner. Yes, we are hinting at the Hyundai Alcazar. While it has got the longest wheelbase and the biggest boot carrying capacity, we compare the mileage of Hyundai Alcazar vs MG Hector Plus vs Tata Safari. We also have the Mahindra XUV500 but have picked for engine specs only. The SUV will soon be discontinued and its newer version, XUV700 will be launched.

We have compared the diesel engine above and as you can see, the Alcazar has got the weakest engine of all. This one is sourced from the Creta only and generates 113 bhp with 250 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, both the Safari and Hector Plus uses FCA sourced 2.0L diesel unit.

This diesel is quite powerful and generates 168 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. All three SUVs get a 6-speed manual as standard and it is the Alcazar and Safari that provides 6-speed as an option too. The oldest running 7-seater, XUV500 gets a 2.2L mHawk that produces 153 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque.

Times are changing and people are looking for petrol-powered SUVs who have less usage. Both MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Creta provides the same. The petrol Alcazar churns out 157 bhp with 192 Nm of peak torque and the Hector Plus generates 141 bhp/250 Nm. A 6-speed manual is observed as standard in both the SUVs whereas Alcazar gets 6-speed AT as an option and Hector Plus gets DCT and CVT. Also, Hector Plus also offers a petrol hybrid as an option.

Hyundai Alcazar is returning the highest if you're picking the diesel motor. This 7-seater SUV is returning more than 20 kmpl in the manual and you get above 18 in the 6-speed AT. On the other hand, Hector Plus returns 16.60 kmpl for the MT whereas Safari sticks to 16.14 kmpl only. The 6-speed AT in Safari delivers 14.08 kmpl.
Coming to the petrol then MG Hector Plus returns an amazing 16.56 kmpl for the MT while the DCT is as low as 11.67 kmpl. Hyundai Alcazar returns 14.5 kmpl for the MT and 14.2 kmpl for the AT. The SUV is launching on June 18 and will pack in a lot of features. Some include a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auro, wireless charging, 360-degree camera, multiple drive modes and others.
