Hyundai Creta is one of the top-selling mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. The SUV recently received a facelift with design changes and feature updates. Now, it seems like the South Korean automaker is prepared to bring the EV version of the SUV to India. The Creta EV has been spotted on test previously and a new test mule of the Creta EV has been spotted and revealed some new details about the upcoming EV. Hyundai Creta EV - New Details Revealed!
The newly spotted test mule has revealed some intriguing details about the upcoming Creta EV. The upcoming facelift will be based on the Creta ICE version and will get the same design as the new Creta facelift. The test mule showed similar LED DRLs and tail lamps. The overall silhouette of the electric version will remain the same as the ICE version but the EV will get some EV-specific changes.
The side profile will get distinction due to the presence of new aerodynamic alloy wheels to lower the drag. We can also expect low-resistance tyres on the EV version. Another major change will be at the front of the SUV, it will boast a closed-off front grille and the charging port will be located on the front of the SUV. On the test mule, a radar box is seen on the bumper which indicates the availability of ADAS in the EV version as well. The Creta EV utilizes the modified version of Creta's existing platform.
The recent spotting has also given a glimpse of the interior as well, the Creta EV boasts a new two-spoke steering wheel similar to the other Hyundai EVs such as the Ioniq 5. We can also expect some subtle changes to the interior upholstery and layout.

Hyundai Creta EV Powertrain
The upcoming Creta EV will get an externally mounted battery under the floor. As of now, the specifications are under wraps but we anticipate it to get a 40-45 kWh battery pack giving a range of around 400 km on a single charge. We can also expect an AWD variant for the Creta EV as well.
Verdict
Hyundai Creta EV is one of the anticipated EV for the Indian market and it is expected to make debut by year end or in sometime in 2025. The Creta EV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 20 to 22 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and other mid-size EVs available in the Indian market.
