- Creta 1.4 litre Turbo Petrol And iMT no longer on sale
- In a bid to align with the new RDE norms
- Variants across i20, Venue and Creta discontinued
With RDE norms kicking in soon, companies are gearing up and making necessary changes in the lineup they currently have on offer. South Korean car manufacturing giant Hyundai has decided to strike 11 variants across i20, Venue and Creta. Taking the move forward, Hyundai has taken the Hyundai Creta 1.4 litre Turbo Petrol And iMT Variants off its official website. It received an update just recently with additional safety features and powertrain options.
Now, The Hyundai Creta is available only in 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options.
Hyundai Creta 1.4 litre Turbo Petrol
The turbo petrol engine on the Creta was available with the S+ and the SX(O) variants mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission. This catered to a more performance-centric buyer segment. The turbo petrol delivered 140 PS power with a peak torque of 242 Nm and did not power any other car in its lineup. This makes sense as modifying the engine to follow emission norms for a single product would not have been a resourceful decision.

The iMT variants have also been taken off the official website, courtesy of the Real Driving Emission (RDE) norms. The regular petrol engine was offered with the S+ variant. Even though the iMT is more economical to produce than the automated manual transmission, it has been put to rest as well.
- More manufacturers to follow suit
