Last month, Hyundai launched the facelifted Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS in the country, with prices starting at Rs 5.68 lakh (ex-showroom). Approximately a month after launch, the refreshed model has already begun commanding a waiting period. The waiting time has already surpassed the 18-week mark. As for the Hyundai Creta, it demands patience for almost 7-8 months.

As for the powertrains, the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine has been discontinued and the Creta is now offered two engine options a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Both powertrains have been retained for 2023 and are now offered with idle start / stop technology as well.
Delivery time of the Creta S+ SE, SX, and SX (O) iVT variants is the least whereas the Hyundai Creta SX diesel variant has the lowest waiting period of up to 22 weeks. The S+ SE and SX (O) AT diesel variants command a waiting period of up to 26 weeks. Just to give you a quick recap, Hyundai India has discontinued the select diesel trims of its cars due to the upcoming RDE (Real Driving Emissions) in April 2023.

A relatively fresh upgrade in its lineup, the Grand i10 NIOS in its Magna variant will keep you lingering for almost 18 weeks. If you plan on getting it sooner, you will have to go with the Sports CNG, which is merely 6 weeks away from your possession.
The model is powered by a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine producing 82bhp and 114Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed manual unit or an AMT unit. Also up for offer is a CNG variant.
VERDICT- Gone are the times you used to go to showrooms and the car would be yours if you were there with money. Now, the demands and the semiconductor chip crunch have made the waiting period deciding factors which sometimes even crosses 1-year mark.
