Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced the installation of ultra-fast charging stations across major highways in the country. In that effort, the brand has installed two ultra-fast charging stations on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada (Narketpalle) and Delhi-Chandigarh (Kurukshetra) highways. Each fast charging station will have a DC 150 kW Ultra-Fast Charger and a DC 60 kW High-Speed Charger. Beginning on February 1, 2023, the public will have access to these charging stations.

Hyundai Ultra-Fast Charging Stations
All EV users will get benefit from the new fast charging stations. According to the brand these chargers can charge the all-electric SUV Hyundai IONIQ 5 can be charged at these stations from 10% to 80% charge in just 21 minutes. Owners of Hyundai EVs have access to the charging stations through Hyundai's own Charger Management System in the myHyundai App, which makes it simple to locate them, reserve slots in advance, make payments online, and check to charge progress from a distance, among other things. Hyundai Motor India Ltd., in collaboration with "ChargeZone," will manage and oversees the operation of all the charging stations.
With a competitive charging rate, the Hyundai-branded station will provide an economical EV driving experience. To further enhance consumer satisfaction while charging their electric vehicles, charging stations are situated in areas with sufficient customer amenities, such as coffee shops and restaurants. To ensure a smooth charging experience, the charging stations are also staffed with marshals who are available to help EV drivers around the clock.

The public and all passenger EV owners are welcome to use the Ultra-High Speed EV charging stations. The company plans to expand to further cities and highways after installing 10 Ultra-Fast Public Charging Stations in the first half of CY2023. HMIL will continue to grow and install more of these charging stations along other highways and in other cities to increase EV customers' peace of mind while promoting the use of electric vehicles in India and supporting the Indian Government's strong emphasis on electrification.
Verdict: Hyundai India wants to improve the nation's charging infrastructure with the help of new DC fast chargers. The EV owners will be able to charge their vehicles at these charging stations while driving on the abovementioned highways. Prior to 2028, the brand wants to increase the number of EVs in its lineup and the network of its charging infrastructure.
