Hyundai Ioniq 6 Crash Test
Looking more closely at the Euro NCAP crash test results reveals that the Ioniq 6 received scores of 97% for adult occupants, 87% for children, 66% for vulnerable road users, and 90% for safety assistance.
During the frontal offset test, the IONIQ 6's passenger compartment remained steady. Dummy readings showed that both the driver and the passenger's knees and femurs were well protected. Hyundai demonstrated that occupants of all sizes and seated positions would receive an equivalent level of protection. All of the passenger dummy's vital body parts received adequate protection. The IONIQ 6 would be a safe impact partner in a frontal accident, according to analyses of the deceleration of the impact trolley during the test and of the deformable barrier following the test.
In the case of a rear-end collision, tests on the front seats and head restraints showed that they provide good protection against whiplash injuries. The rear seats' geometry only offered mediocre whiplash protection, according to the investigation. The Ioniq 6 has an advanced eCall system which alerts the emergency services in the event of a crash and a system which automatically applies the brakes to prevent secondary collisions.

One of these is Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), which can even overtake the vehicle in front when driving on a highway and helps to maintain a predetermined distance and speed from the vehicle ahead. The IONIQ 6 can drive autonomously at Level 2 thanks to HDA 2.
