Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has kicked off a new initiative under its 'Samarth' CSR programme. The brand has started the 'Samarth Para-Sports Programme' in collaboration with the GoSports Foundation to support and fund 20 para-athletes for the next three years. HMIF Samarth Para-Sports Programme
Hyundai Motor India Foundation has onboarded 20 para-athletes from different fields under this new initiative. The brand will provide financial aid, access to assistive devices, soft skill development, mentorship from renowned coaches, expert sports guidance, and other aid to all selected athletes.
Under this new programme the brand has identified athletes across 8 different sports categories. These categories include athletes from Para Athletics, Para-Rowing, Para-Cycling, Para-Badminton, Para-Swimming, Wheelchair Tennis, Para-Archery, and Para-Canoeing. The selected athletes include 5 elite para-athletes aged 16 and above. With the support of the HMIF, the athletes will be able to receive top-notch mentorship to represent India at a global level.

Hyundai Motor India launched its Samarth Initiative back in November 2023 to aware and sensitize society towards the special people with disabilities in India. The brand has made sure that its showrooms, website, and other platforms are user-friendly for people with disabilities. The brand has also developed a special seat designed for easy access for persons with disabilities, which can be installed in Hyundai cars.
