Over the years, the taste for SUVs is rising in the Indian market and it is the compact SUVs which have proven out to be cost-effective. You get the higher SUV stance, better ground clearance and the SUV moniker. To keep the consistency going, several carmakers have been stepping up in this segment and the latest is Nissan with its Magnite.
Nissan Magnite has been the talk of the automotive industry for some time now and it will make its global debut on July 16, 2020. We all know that don't we? So this recent piece of information is about the production-ready prototype of the Magnite.
The sub-4-metre SUV levels up with the popular Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Ford Ecosport and upcoming Kia Sonet and Toyota Urban Cruiser. Nissan also teased some of the images as how will the upcoming SUV will look like.

The SUV is based on the recent CMF-A+ platform on which the upcoming Renault Kiger is also based on. Both these SUVs will share the same underpinnings and will offer a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. There will be no diesel engine on the offer on either of them.
Sharing details on the power figures then it is being said that the 1.0L engine will make as much as 100 bhp on tap with a peak torque of 160 Nm. This unit will be mated to a 5-speed stick shift and an optional CVT gearbox. Mind you, these are the specs of the Renault Kiger but hinting on the same underpinnings, we expect this will continue on the Magnite too.

In other news, Nissan just recently introduced BS6 Kicks which is another SUV which rivals Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. What's new is the 1.3L turbo petrol which makes as much as 156 PS of power. Nissan has discontinued the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine.
