Hyundai Vena is no doubt one of the most spoty looking sedan in the C-Segment. Well, yes the fluidic did give it a new character but it was the Hyundai Verna Transform which was a rugged sedan. In this memory lane, we will be sharing some details about the Hyundai Verna Transform.
Well, the older Verna did look a little out of the picture because of its styling but with the relaunch of Verna Transform in 2010, the South Korean carmaker really upped its game. At that time you could get the base variant at just Rs 6.50 lakh and the top-spec fetched till 9.21 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
From the visual part of view, the Transform really transformed its game. Yes, at the front it came with new pair of headlights which gave better illumination at night and also with new pair of bumper ( front and rear ). The grille too is now curvier and now body coloured to the sedan.

The fog light housing too was improved from a big rectangular to a trapezoidal shape and the ORVMs came with integrated indicators. Liek the front, the rear came with minimal changes like the different rear combination lights, chrome exhaust tip, chrome dual tone garnish and among othes.
Like the exteriors, the interiors of Verna Transform came with blue illuminated light which gave the cabin a premium look. This blue light was observed in the centre console, instrument cluster and the digital clock. Overall, the Transform was the answer to then popular Honda City.

The Transform model got visual changes but under the hood, the story was same. The potential customers were given two engine choices to choose from - a 1.6L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine. The petrol curned 103 bhp with a peak torque of 146 Nm while the diesel makde 108 bhp and 236 Nm of torque.
One could choose between two variants when going for petrol - 1.6L VTVT and 1.6L SX VTVT while the diesel was available in three variants - 1.5L VGT, 1.5L SX VGT and 1.5L SX VGT AT. The diesel came with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a four-speed torque converter unit.
