Taking about its dimensions first, the 2021 Audi A3 sedan has gained 4 cm in length, 2 cm in width and 1 cm in height from its predecessor. The boot space is the same as the predecessor at 425 litres. Talking about the exterior design now, the front gets a big trapezoidal single-frame grille with honeycomb finishing. The LED headlights are new with DRLs in new Audi fashion which is same as we see in the LED taillights.
The roof is tapering off to the rear and all this helps to make the new 2021 Audi A3 sedan even more aerodynamic than the hatchback iteration. Same as the BMW, the single-piece grille has movable flaps which get closed to aid aerodynamics when the engine doesn't need cooling. The rear profile is all-new with LED taillamps in Audi' signature pattern and a neatly fixed boot spoiler. Audi A3 sedan will be available with standard suspension setup. However, we have been also given a choice of a sports suspension and adaptive dampers set up as well.
Talking about the interiors now, the interior is all new and Audi says some inspiration has been taken from Lamborghini Urus which is visible in the design of AC vents and headlight controls. The meticulously designed interiors look great and are loaded with tech. The centre of the dash is occupied with 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment which supports 4G LTE, wifi hotspot, Android Auto and Apple Car Play and the screen is tilted towards the driver to add an extra layer of sportiness. Moreover, the new Audi A3 sedan gets a 10.25-inch driver's display as standard but it can be specced with a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit Plus which has three display modes. The final touch in the interior is a small and stubby gear selector which we first saw in the Porsche Carrera.
Talking about engines now, Audi A3 sedan will be launched with 2 petrol and one diesel engine. The 1.5-litre direct-injection petrol engine will churn out 150 ps and it will be paired with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The petrol engine now also gets a 48V mild-hybrid system which can give additional 50 Nm of torque assist and can coast the A3 on highways without the help of the engine at all. The other engine is a 150 ps, 2.0-litre diesel which is paired with 7-speed dual-clutch box. After the launch, 115 ps 2.0-litre diesel and 110 hp 1.0-litre TFSI engines will also be available with the Audi A3 sedan.
